An important past event in the relationship of any committed couple is the first date. Looking back on this occasion can often be the source of a sigh, a laugh, and even a cringe or two. Finally, an additional source of anxiety for some is coming from a previous long-term relationship. This is one of the worst types of first date anxiety. This goes beyond jitters and can rival something akin to dread. This is definitely a difficult thing to get through; however, as you push on, you will find that it will become easier. Try not to compare the new date to your ex. This will happen from time to time; there is no way to stop it, but do your best not to dwell on things. The easiest thing is to put you in a receptive, fresh perspective. If you are only looking for friendship, that’s ok. It’s best not to just jump into another relationship, but sometimes, you are ready. If you are, just remember that self-confidence mentioned earlier. Be yourself and allow them to be themselves.
